About Us

At Sidehill Sitters we have only the best sitters ready to care for your pets. All of our sitters are bonded and insured, background checked and have great experience with animals. Below are short biographies of each of our sitters so that you can get to know a little about them.

Liana - Owner

My name is Liana and I am the owner of Sidehill Sitters! I am a graduate of CSU with degrees in Biology and Zoology and have been pet sitting in Fort Collins for 10 years. I have been working with animals most of my life, including working at the Larimer Humane Society, Wildkind and the Canine Learning Center. I have also been a foster parent for a variety of animal rescues including: All Breed Rescue, Italian Greyhound Rescue, and Rottie Aid. I recently spent time volunteering with Avalon Aviary to learn more about our feathered parrot friends!

I began pet sitting in 2001 and started Sidehill Sitters after many years of just helping out friends and family. I currently live with my cat named Aislinn (pictured), in addition to a 45 gallon freshwater fish tank. I take care of all of the introductory meetings, scheduling and many of the last minute visits. During your trip I will supervise your pet sitter and provide any extra assistance that is needed. I love to make sure that your pets are receiving the wonderful care that Sidehill Sitters is known for!

Michelle - pet sitter and dog walker

Hi there! My name is Michelle and I love taking care of all types of animals large and small. I am a Certified Veterinary Technician and have no problems dealing with our special needs animal friends. I moved here to Fort Collins to go to CSU and graduated with a degree in Equine Science, then moved on to get my Vet Tech Certification. Currently I have one dog (Veronica) whom I adopted from the humane society, one cat, and lots of fish. Veronica I actually met while I was doing my internship at the CSU VTH and just totally fell in love with her. She is pictured here with me trying to give me a kiss. I would love to meet all of your furry family members and can't wait to spend time with them.

Cassie - pet sitter and dog walker

Hello! My name is Cassie and I'm your best friend's best friend when you are away! I have experience with all types of animals, ranging from dogs and cats to reptiles to hedgehogs to horses. As a little girl and teen, my hobbies included teaching my dogs new tricks and barrel racing with a horse named Dogpatch. My first passion out of high school was medicine, so I went to school to be an EMT at Front Range Community College and worked with several surgeons. I recently discovered within the past few years my passion for animals. I have gained extensive experience working as a dog daycare attendant as well as a service dog trainer for the HA=LO Project, working under the wing of renowned dog trainer, Terry Jester. I have high hopes of one day becoming a military and police dog trainer, but for now, I am enjoying working for Sidehill Sitters. I currently live with a fantastic service dog in training, Chinook, as well as my very sweet Mini Aussie named Queso.

Becky - pet sitter

Hello everyone! My name is Becky and I am a recent transplant to the Fort Collins area. I've always loved animals of all kinds. I grew up in western Pennsylvania as an only child with a dog, a guinea pig, and a fish tank. In college, I had a pet rabbit with the world's softest fur who was litter box trained and a huge hit with my roommates. My husband and I adopted two English Springer Spaniels through the Mid Atlantic English Springer rescue, and I've taken both of them through obedience class and done a little bit of Rally Obedience with Daphne (pictured), who is a breast cancer survivor. We also have one very cantankerous tortoise shell cat. My professional experience has included work with various captive animals at a Pennsylvania wildlife park. I bottle fed and raised two cougar cubs, a pack of five wolves, several fawns, and also helped to care for black bears, bobcats, and horses. I'm currently working on my master's degree in Human Dimensions of Natural Resources at CSU, and I'm looking forward to meeting your furry, scaly, or slimy family members!

Julie - pet sitter and dog walker

Hello, my name is Julie. I am a resident of Loveland and feel very fortunate to be a member of the Sidehill Sitters family. In addition to being a lover of all animals I am the owner of 2 Whippets, 2 kitties, 2 finches and an aquarium full of tropical fish. I have worked with various rescues including The Greyhound Adoption League in California. I have fostered for two local rescues, opening up my heart and home to feral kitties and kittens too young for their forever homes.

My younger Whippet, Rocky, comes from a rescue. My older Whippet, Angel, is physically challenged with a spinal injury. Through many hours of physical therapy she has learned to walk again. She cannot go on long walks so she has her special stroller and of course Rocky sees her in the stroller and has to join in for the ride. They are both real characters.

Ginger and Teddy are my two kitties. They were orphan kittens that I fostered and they stole my heart, I just couldn’t give them up! Ginger is diabetic so I am very familiar with the challenges of living with a diabetic kitty. Teddy has very severe food allergies so I have extensive knowledge of how to deal with this issue. I also have experience with birds; have owned parrots and birds of many sizes. I have also owned bunnies, hamsters, rats and a corn snake.

I have a soft spot for all animals no matter how big or small. I am looking forward to meeting you and spending time with your special babies.

Jenifer - dog runner

Greetings! My name is Jenifer and I have been an “unofficial” dog runner for years, as I have always believed that running benefits dogs just as much as it does humans! Whether it has been the dogs of neighbors, roommates, or my own… something in their pleading little eyes cries out to me , “we want to explore the world at more than a walking pace”. I now barely know what it feels like to run alone because there is always some furry little creature wanting to keep me company. It just wouldn’t be running to me anymore if I didn’t have to brace myself every time a squirrel ran across the path! I look forward to helping your dog release energy, strengthen its heart, and satisfy its animal instinct to run free… (on a leash).
